Palliative care

Palliative care is an active care delivered in a comprehensive approach of the person with a serious, progressive or terminal illness.

The goal of palliative care is to relieve the physical pain and other symptoms, but also to take into account the psychological, social and spiritual suffering.

In the CHU, a palliative care mobile team composed of doctors and nurses can intervene in complementarity with the health care teams, with the patient and his relatives.

There are also beds dedicated to palliative care in Geriatric Medicine and a bed for long term stay at Champmaillot (B2).
